Richard Canary joined the Hilliard Education Foundation Board in 2024 and is excited to be a part of a group that encourages development and engagement in our students and gives back to Hilliard educators.

Rich and his wife Jen have lived in Hilliard for the past 26 years. Their four children have benefited from many of the programs provided by the Hilliard City Schools from elementary through high school. Michael (2020), Sasha (2022), Lance (2023) and Erin (2025) are proud of their Hilliard Davidson experience. GO CATS!

Rich has an MBA from Capital University and is a Telecom Manager for American Electric Power. He has been involved is Scouts BSA as a committee member for a boy troop, a founding member of two girl troops and is currently on the membership committee for the Gateway District. His hobbies include anything that keeps him moving including running, climbing, hiking and backpacking. After a successful kidney transplant in 2022, he has added triathlons to his activity list.
